Futha by Heilung

With lyrics from old Icelandic poetry and more female voices, Heilung takes you back to a time before Christianity and modern politics, connecting you with something ancient and primal.
Futha by Heilung

“Heilung” means “healing” in German, and that’s exactly what Heilung’s music does. It’s a magical journey, leaving you relaxed and at ease, even though it might get a little turbulent along the way.

Their latest album, Futha, took three years to make, and get this, they finished it on the darkest day of the solar year, right in the middle of winter. It's the opposite of their first album, Ofnir, like the yin to its yang, the feminine side of things.

And here’s the kicker: the lyrics are all from old Icelandic poetry, and you’ll notice more female voices this time around. Now, before you try to peg these guys politically or religiously, don’t even bother. Heilung’s all about taking you back to a time before all that, a time before Christianity and modern politics. It’s about connecting with something ancient, something primal.
