🚨 SNEAK PEEK ALERT 🚨
So, I wrap up my day and what do I see in my inbox? An email from the legend himself, Mark Dale, the colorist extraordinaire. He's just sent me the finished pages for this month’s issue of VIKINGS vs SAMURAI—titled "The Bridegroom and the She-bear."
Now, let me give you the lowdown. When I kicked off VIKINGS vs SAMURAI, I was dead set on keeping it black and white. Why? Well, first, when I think of samurai, what comes to mind? It’s all those classic chanbara films—black and white, gritty, raw. I’ve devoured those flicks like a junkie chasing his next hit. The second reason? Straight up—it’s cheaper to print in black and white.
But then, about a year ago, I linked up with Buğra Batuhan Berah, and he offered to color the "A Man Who Knows" issue. I thought, “Sure, why the hell not?” Little did I know that once I saw Buğra’s work—this vivid, apocalyptic brilliance—there was no turning back. Black and white? Forget it.
Fast forward to "The Bridegroom and the She-bear." Dave Fowler’s illustrating this bad boy, and he said, “Let’s get Mark to color it.” I was already down, but once I sampled Mark’s work? Mind blown. Now, after seeing the finished pages, I’m straight-up hyped.
Come Halloween, we’ll be dropping this bloody issue right into your trick-or-treat bag. And if you haven’t signed up for our newsletter yet? What are you waiting for? Don’t miss a single blood-soaked issue!
