Mushikera

After a grueling day, I unwind with Mushikera comics from Dave Fowler. It’s ultra-violence meets Chanbara—a tribute to Kurosawa and Mifune. Grab it!
Mushikera

I drag my tired ass home after a long day at work. I’m wiped out. Then, I’m out there roasting like a damn rotisserie chicken under the sun, all while watching my grandkid on the field for his Little League practice. But just when I’m about to flatline, bam—a package lands in my lap, straight from the man himself, illustrator Dave Fowler!

I tear that sucker open like a kid on Christmas, and what do I find? Issues one and two of Mushikera! Dave’s been working feverishly like a madman with writer Alexander James Robnett and the letterer Rob Jones.

Now, I’m pumped. I drop into my chair, crack open the first issue, and, man, it’s got all the good stuff: honor, loyalty, and buckets of blood—pure ultra-violence. If you’re into Chanbara, this thing’s a love letter to legends like Akira Kurosawa, Toshiro Mifune, Tadanobu Asano, and the rest of the gang. I’m a sucker for this genre, alright? It was the killer artwork Dave threw up on Instagram that got me hooked. Next thing I know, I’m reaching out to him to team up for an upcoming issue of VIKINGS vs SAMURAI: “The Bridegroom and the She-bear.”

So do yourself a favor—hustle down to your local comic shop, throw down some cash, and grab the latest Mushikera. And hey, don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter, or you’ll be kicking yourself when you miss the next blood-splattered issue of VIKINGS vs SAMURAI!
