Slashing Through Writer’s Block
I spent the last day busting my ass on the first issue of Vikings vs. Samurai. Let me tell you, it's a Herculean task. I have to deliver on the promise of this comic book while kick-starting the plot and yanking you, my dear reader, right by the throat, all in just one goddamn page.
I made some progress. I scribbled down notes and sketched some thumbnails for each panel. But I hit a wall. It's a real trip. I got to spill the scenes from my twisted head onto the page, making sure they made sense and conveyed all the action and drama.
So there I was, strolling around this evening, getting compliments on my Death Ray Vision shirt. And then it hit me like a freight train. The whole story just burst out of my brain in one explosive revelation, bringing along a load of pulpy and lurid visions and wild-ass ideas!
I don't know if we'll use what I've written, and honestly, I don't care. 'Cause let me tell you, it was a goddamn thrilling yarn to write!
